I'm back with another book review today! I listened to The Monster Under the Bed on Audible while I did a walking workout. It was the perfect length to get a good walk in while listening to an entertaining short story. This is a quick, steamy little tale about a no monster that I have ever thought about living under the bed! Flirty fun that makes the minutes fly by! This is an entire series my Rebekah Lewis and I definitely intend to read or listen to the rest! 4.5/5 stars for sheer fun! Link: http://a.co/3jVOJ47 Blurb:
An erotic paranormal SHORT STORY Maddy has an embarrassing secret: there's a monster under her bed. For some reason, it has followed her from one home to the next, always there but never seen. She's learned to live with it, but something has changed. It has set its sights on her, and its lust could very well be her undoing. Author's note: Best when paired with Volume 2, "The Monster in the Closet"

Hey look who is back getting some book review written! Leona Bushman is one of my favorite romance authors, mainly for the fact that she mixes so many genres with her romance. Darkest Valentine is no different. This story blends history, romance and dark suspense in a seamless way. This is a very quick and entertaining read. The hero has some secrets, but not everything is as it seems with him. The heroine is feisty and full of life despite being a lady back in the days where women didn't have many rights. There are some well written side characters that help to add depth to this story. Overall its a great read and I look forward to hopefully reading more about these characters. 5/5 Stars! Heiress Lady Lilliana has been lonely most of her life. An overbearing father, abusive brother, and she's ready to toss the idea of marriage completely. But when her brother tries to have her kidnapped, she is saved by the Dark Duke, Clarence Leo Hardwick III, Duke of Cantebury, and all of a sudden, marriage doesn't seem such an awful prospect. He could keep her safe from her brother and provide the title Father expected. She enjoyed their kisses and the way he made her feel. However, despite saving her from an ugly fate, he kept secrets that she wasn't sure she could forgive. The Dark Duke enjoyed his reputation. The darker the better. It kept most mothers from throwing their daughters at his feet. While out at his secret warehouse by the London docks, he witnessed a female in distress and went to help. Something about her caught his interest, especially when he learned who she was. He determined he would marry her, gain himself a wife capable of courage and loyalty, and extract revenge all in one swoop. He wants her, but can she love him after he reveals his secrets? Fighting her father for her hand against a Marquess while protecting her from her brother's nefarious schemes proved a difficult task, especially when the spirited Lilliana kept his mind occupied on making her his. Continued attempts to kidnap Lilliana, as well as an attempt on her life convinces him he needs to marry her sooner rather than later and has to get her cooperation before it was too late. But how could he convince her to take a chance on him when his past held such darkness? Have you ever wanted a sign paperback from your truly? Looking for a unique and personalized gift? Well I have signed paperbacks available for your holiday needs! I will personalize each to your specifications. Only $12.50 including shipping to the US. Hurry to get these in time for the holidays. As an author I am always studying and trying to improve my craft, which means each year I grab a copy of the Novel & Short Story Writers Market. It always has great articles in the front that help me learn and then I often find so many new markets for my writing. It's a great book for authors and I highly recommend it to others, but especially newer authors who might be looking for new or their first markets.

I just finished a fun read, Soulless by Gail Carriger. Vampires, werewolves, a strong female lead, and all set in an alternate English history? Of course I had to read this book! For the most part I really liked this book. I thought that the plot was engaging, with enough excitement and intrigue to keep me turning the pages. The characters were fairly strong, especially the lead character, Alexia. The only real problem that I had with this book is that there is some head hopping that takes place, especially in the beginning of the novel and it sometimes took me a moment to realize we were in someone else's thoughts and it would take me out of the story. The head hopping seemed to happen less as I read, or maybe I just became better at ignoring it. For that reason I am only giving this 4/5 stars. I still plan on reading the rest of the series, but I am hoping that editors have taken care of point of view hop problems. Still this is an exciting paranormal read and I would recommend it to others. Okay I thought that I would do a fun little blog today and talk about some of my favorite book series, in several cases by doing a top 5 List!
1. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy by JRR Tolkien. This is one of my favorite books/series of all time and is actually the work that inspired me to be writer way back when I was a preteen reading them for the first time. I am still in awe of the world creation in these books and reread it every couple of years. 2. The Entire Harry Potter Series. What can I say? These are fun reads and are my go to books when I am feeling down and want to escape for awhile. 3. The Entire Works of Shakespeare. Yep, I love Shakespeare with no apologies and I actually enjoy reading his work. I'm a nerd what can I say? 4. The Dark Tower series by Stephen King. I've been a huge fan of Stephen King since I was about 10 years old and I really feel like I grew up on the Dark Tower series. Sure it has some weird twists and turns, but that's part of what I love. 5. The Narnia Series by CS Lewis. A great fantasy tale, but has special meaning for me as my grandpa used to read it to me as a child and it helped develop my love of reading. 5. (tie) His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman. I just love these books. Are they a little dark? Sure, but they are also so interesting and let you look at the world in a new way. So those are my all time favorite series. Are there more that I like? Sure but I can't make this blog too long. LOL. And I know, the works of Shakespeare aren't really a series, but it's my list so I can do what I want!

Beautiful Torment was such a difficult book for me to write and yet, it is probably my
favorite out of all the books in the Thin Red Lines Series (Sorry Liam, I will love you always). I
remember when I was about 25,000 words in and I scrapped the entire thing and started over.
que my tears of frustration. It was so hard to figure out how I wanted it to end and since I’m a
pantser, outlining wasn’t helping me, it just made me more frustrated.
The series itself is dark with bits of hope and love sprinkled throughout. Beautiful
Torment, while dark I wanted to focus on redemption and how not all those who make bad
choices, have mental illness, or suffer loss will be beholden to those things for the rest of their
lives.
This story took itself on a totally different route (yes, I don’t outline that extensively so
things just happen as I write) and I have gotten such amazing feedback and comments that this
book was so many people’s favorite. The “villain” is different and I love her like she was my
own kid. I cried writing her and it scared me how easily her POV flowed. So, while this book
started out being the hardest for me to write, I ended up finishing it in less than a month once all
the pieces fell into place.
I hope that Beautiful Torment rounds out the series nicely and you all love Sydney,
Desiree and Hunter as much as I do.

Other Books in the Thin Red Lines Standalone Series You can find Genevieve curled up reading paranormal romance and romantic thrillers, or frantically typing her stories on her laptop. Psychology is her trade by day, teaching and molding the minds of college students. Her interest in psychology can be seen in her books, each including many psychological undertones. Although she loves teaching, her passion, her true love, lies in the stories that roam around in her head. Yes, they all come from her mind-the good, the bad, and the totally insane. She lives in Massachusetts-no, not Boston-with her husband, daughter, and American Eskimo dog. With each story, she shares, she hopes her love for writing and storytelling seeps through, encompassing the reader and leaving them wanting more. a Rafflecopter giveaway http://www.rafflecopter.com/rafl/display/ea80a6ed254/ I am finally reading more again! Some health issues had been making it hard for me to read and concentrate, but I have still been struggling to get back to reading much more.
This week I just finished Song of the Dark Crystal by J.M. Lee. This is the second book in a YA series based off the Jim Henson movie the Dark Crystal. I read and liked the first book and could not wait to get the second one and it did not disappoint! This story picks up right where the last one left off, with a very small group of Gelfling trying to get the word out about the Skeksis betrayal and the trouble that all of Thra is in. These books are prequels to the movie of sorts and I love exploring the world more. If you liked the movie (I have some friends who found it creepy) then you should pick up these books and give them a try. You won't be disappointed. I give this book 4/5 stars, well worth a read. link: http://a.co/3TPbfFd

Renee Mccleary rated it it was amazing
This is my favorite out of the Thin Red Lines Series! Even though it is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. I loved Hunter and Desiree! This book is suspenseful, funny, heartbreaking and beautiful!! The story kept me pulled in reading as fast as I could, I had to know what was going to happen!! I loved the twists and turns! There are parts in there that had me saying "What in the world just happened?" Hunter and Desiree had amazing chemistry and I loved the banter between them! I hope everyone gets to find thier hero like Desiree does. If you are looking for a romantic thriller with some laughs I highly recommend this book.
