I just wanted to take a moment to wish all of you a Happy New Year's Eve and New Year! I hope you all have a ton of fun today and tonight, but please be careful out there! Have a DD or get a ride, I think Uber and Lyft both have some discounts and even free rides! Also watch for others who aren't so careful. Be safe for I want to see everyone in 2019! See you next year!!

On the last blog I talked about my writing plans in 2019, now I am going to talk about the rest of my goals for next year.
Let's start off with art. For one, I want to do at least one painting a month. I also want to participate in more art shows and I already have two in the books for early 2019! I also am thinking about opening an etsy store just for my art. We shall see about that though. I have been playing with the idea of making a YouTube channel and I think that 2019 is the year to do it. I am working on a concept and learning to film and edit and hope to get it up and running early in the year. I will of course post my videos here on the blog too for those of you who might be interested. I am excited to step outside of my comfort zone and try something new. And of course what would a list of new year goals be without some personal and health goals. I have already been trying to make small changes in my health this year, but I want to do even more in 2019. I plan on walking more than ever, getting back to 10K a day at least. I also am going to keep cleaning up my diet. I am cutting back on sugar and want to eat more salads and veggies. Small changes are the way to go I think. I also really need to get back to doing yoga on a regular basis. And I am thinking about taking a weekly dance class just for fun! I just need to figure out how to balance work, writing, exercise, and life. It is all a work in progress, as am I. Luckily getting more organized is the other main goal I have for the year! What are your goals or resolutions for 2019? Comment below and let's cheer each other on! Well I looked back on 2018, so now it's time to look forward towards 2019. I am looking to make 2019 a great year, so I will be splitting this into two posts. This one about writing and the next one about everything else!
So as I said in my look back at 2018, this has been a year where I struggled with writing. Well I am looking to take care of that problem in 2019. Now that I have a set day job schedule and I have gotten used to it I think that I can schedule my writing work much better. I want to become more organized with my writing and make sure that I have enough time to write new material. This means I am going to schedule certain times for marketing and blogging, and leave the rest of my time for editing and new writing. That means that I am going to likely cut blogging back to two days a week most of the time, Mondays and Thursdays. I will still be active but will free up some time for fiction writing. And hey hopefully that will mean better blog content for you to read! Now as for writing projects for 2019, well I have a long list! First I am proud to say that I already know of one flash fiction piece that will be printed in an anthology next year! And I have two other short stories out on submission as we speak, so fingers crossed. I hope to write at least 6-12 more short stories for anthologies in 2019. I really do enjoy writing short fiction and it allows me to explore different genres which I love. I also want to get back to writing and publishing more shorts of my Gods Behaving Badly series. I hope to get at least two novellas out this coming year. As for the rest of my writing, I want to focus on some longer works. I have plans to write a long novella/short novel romance focusing on a character with multiple sclerosis. I plan on finishing the sequel to my romantic fantasy Quest for Redemption, Quest for Self. I also have a time travel novel, Rivals Out of Time, that I hope to finish in 2019. And if not all of that is enough, I have a four book series about dragons and dragonbornes that I want to write and get at least the first two books out if possible in 2019. That is a lot I know, but you got dream big and push yourself if you want to grow and succeed. I just wanted to take a moment to tell all of my readers and fans that they mean the world to me and to wish them a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I hope that each and everyone of you has had and continues to have a great season. Be careful out there and be safe. Have fun with your loved ones and enjoy this season!
The end of 2018 is already upon us! This year went by super fast for me. So much has happened both in my personal life and in my writing and art life. This is the time of year I like to look back at the year that was so that I can look forward to the year to come.
In my personal life I have started a new day job, working in accounting and now working five days a week. The schedule is working for me though and I am now using the stable schedule to become more organized. We moved this year. Talk about stressful. What made the move even more stressful was the reason for a quick move, my beloved little dog Eowyn was attacked by an aggressive dog with equally aggressive owners. Losing my sweet dog still weighs on my. I miss her so much and that is the low point for my year. I will never forget her or stop missing her. She was more than a dog to me, she was my baby and had been with me through so much. I hope she is eating all the food in doggie heaven. On the art front, I am happy to say that I have taken part in three different group art shows this past year. That was a big challenge for me. I am unsure of showing my art and it took a lot of courage for me to actually submit to some shows. I am growing in my confidence and in my artistic voice. And hey, I even had a couple art sales this year! Last but certainly not least, this has been an up and down year for writing for me. I am so proud to say that I released three solo books this year, A Whole New Life, The Discovery of A Lifetime, and Very Friendly Beasts! I am also thrilled to have had three horror short stories published in anthologies this year, It's Behind You, Doomsday, and I have a story in a new release scheduled for New Years Day, Evil Lurks. Not a bad year! Especially when I take into account that I have had a rough year actually sitting down and writing. My word count is no where near what it usually is, but I still kept writing or at least trying to write. I learned that I really love writing flash fiction and short stories. I am writing more horror and science fiction and that feels great! I got some stories not only written, but published, that I thought I would never finish. I managed to keep writing this blog pretty darn consistently. Overall I am pretty darn proud of the writing year that I had! What will 2019 have in store? We shall see! I am super happy that one of my favorite authors and people has a new release tomorrow! I can hardly wait to read it! You still have time to preorder yours now! I'll probably have a review up for this one in the new year! Link: mybook.to/HighlandMagic An evil darkness forces Mykel Campbell to reveal his magical powers. Divine Justice by Shelli Rosewarne He was sent to judge her... not fall for her. As a justice angel, Jeremiah had been dispensing heavenly judgement for millenia. While he used to love his job, take pride it, then centuries of watching humans turn to selfishness and greed had left him cynical and bitter. These were no fit emotions for an angel and when he is summoned before the Archangel Council he is willing to accept his fate. Instead he is given one final task, one last judgement. Holly was used to being alone. It didn't mean she didn't love her life, her friends, her work at the shelter. For Christmas though, she just wanted one thing; hope. Hospital tests were never fun and Holly had spent enough time being poked and prodded to never want to go through it again. When she encounters the mysterious Jeremiah she knows there's something different about him. Something that has her inviting him in out of the cold and into her home, where the fire isn't the only thing keeping them warm. As secrets pile up faster than the snow outside, and lives hang in the balance, can Holly and Jeremiah both manage to get what they really want this Christmas? An Angel for the Tree by Shelli Rosewarne Daniel is a modern day Scrooge, but when a beautiful angel shows up on his doorstep can he believe in a Christmas miracle? Daniel Everett is having a bad day. Firstly, it’s almost Christmas and he’s convinced Scrooge had the right idea in the first place, secondly his latest nanny has left him to cope alone with his five year old daughter – and quite frankly he would rather deal with several cut-throat mergers before breakfast than one small child. When the beautiful Laurel shows up on his doorstep she’s a gift from heaven – literally! Unbeknown to him, Laurel is a real life angel and his carefully ordered life is about to be turned upside down as she’s determined to help Daniel feel again and to reconnect with his daughter. What neither of them bank on is the sparks that fly between them. As Laurel starts to thaw Daniel’s icy exterior, can he learn to trust again and start to believe in the impossible – and can they ever overcome the obstacles of coming from two separate worlds? And of course I happen to have two Christmas novellas out as well. They are connected by two brothers, but you can read them individually. Not So Silent Night by Sheri Velarde Anna is a lonely woman, running her dead grandmother's flower shop. She hates Christmas and could not feel more lost when a handsome and mysterious Russian, Alexander, walks into her shop and her life. Each has secrets that they are harboring. Just as their passion erupts, the good old boys in town threaten to ruin everything. Getting to know each other is tough for most couples, adding in magic does not make it any easier. Now with a pack of werewolves out to destroy them, things become intense. They find themselves in a fight for their lives. Can their newfound love give them the strength to win against this threat and trust in the future? Very Friendly Beasts by Sheri Velarde Mikhail is only in Paris to finding the missing heir to the German fox clan so that he can return to Russia and celebrate his last Christmas of freedom. Soon the Gathering would be called and he would be forced to find a mate. However, things become much more interesting than expected when he meet Ellie. Not only is his missing fox fierce and gorgeous, there is a connection between them that neither of them can explain. Before they can explore what is going on between them though, Mikhail must help Ellie as she faced some darkness from her past. Courage, magic, and maybe even love will help them both on a journey to find the future that they deserve. Can Mikhail and Ellie overcome their pasts and trepidation about the future in order to truly find the Christmas spirit and so much more?
