How are we in the last week of July already? 2021 seems to be flying by! Maybe it's because 2020 was such a blur of a year where not much happened as the world stood still? I'm not sure. I know for me it seems like time is speeding up and the standing still and then speeding up again. However I am trying to get some sort of routine to stick and get some semblance of normalcy back in my life. For me that means getting my writing and publication schedule back on track. Edits are going well on my short story collection and it is still on schedule to be out on September 7th! I had to rewrite one short story in the collection, but it is much better for the rewrite and I am excited for this collection to come out! And hopefully my editor will start work on my paranormal romance novelette soon so it can make it out by Halloween! I am also working hard on getting my first rock star romance ready to head to edits later this year, but it won't be out until February of 2022. Still it's exciting to have a publishing schedule again! 2020 really did a number on my writing but I finally feel like I am getting my groove back! Look for preorder links up soon for both of my upcoming releases!
It's summer and the weekend so I thought that I would feature some fantasy novels by indie author Leona Busman to let you unwind and relax this weekend while being highly entertained! Cerisa, trained as both mage and warrior, lives in exile with her family and best friend – a dragon named Lucian. Her peaceful life is ripped apart when her father is murdered by Lord Kyle, the man who has claimed the throne of Riverhand in the name of the missing queen through bloodshed and terror. Cerisa’s plans for revenge, however, are stalled when her mother reveals two secrets that change the foundation of her life. One, her mother is the missing queen, and two, Lord Kyle is her blood father. Stunned and shaken, Cerisa vows revenge, even though her strong emotions wreak havoc on her already chaotic magic. She sets out with Lucian to kill Lord Kyle, despite – or because of – the revelations of her mother. After an attack that leaves her magically vulnerable, she meets Aron, her Drachecroi – a mate whose bonds strengthens the magical powers of their partners. When a simple broken wrist turns out to be infused with a dark curse, they realize that a powerful mage is helping Lord Kyle, defending him with a berserker to ensure the death of any who dare defy him. A berserker that has its sights set on Cerisa. Lucian and Aron help her see that in order to save herself and the rest of Riverhand, she has to turn her back on her own need for revenge as well as convince her mother to do her duty and claim the throne. Preferably before being killed by a berserker. The journey to Dublinum is full of deadly creatures and bandits. Can Cerisa get her mother there in time to save Riverhand from endless civil war? https://books2read.com/u/3L9elJ https://www.amazon.com/Cerisas-Quest.../dp/B07BBWPVKB/ Sherrone left home to escape the power hungry men who would do anything to anyone for greed. The council had sent Sorren on a fool's errand, hoping to be rid of her, but Sherrone was determined to find her, needing to find her in order to move on with her life and get past the guilt eating away at her since her friend left. As she left, a few friends came with her. But things were not as they had appeared to her her whole life, and none of her friends would tell her the meaning behind their cryptic words, only telling her she must find her own way to the truth. Frustrated and a little bereft, they happened upon the city of Jardeon. Larger than anything she could have imagined, Sherrone was confronted with some of the evil in the world as well as the truth of magic. And, she met the dreaded Shadow Knights, one who became particularly interested in her. In her quest to search for Sorren, Sherrone may lose the few friends she had to the evils of those ruling Jardeon. She could lose herself. Would she get past her own self views of the world and accept her magic in time to save them, or would they all be doomed to their separate fates? https://www.amazon.com/Search-Sorren-Hidden-Queen-Book-ebook/dp/B08P1HLV4H Looking for an escape from the workweek? Link: mybook.to/TheRiseoftheInquisitor Earlier this week I shared some of my Christmas reads because I am dreaming of winter! Well today I twisted fellow indie author Leona Bushman's arm to share some of her festive reads in July too to continue my craziness this week! Christmas is not always what it seems. Melody hated Christmas. Ever since her parents died on Christmas Eve, nothing had ever been the same. She and her brother had been forced to live with their grandfather. Her brother, the now presumptive heir, received most of the attention as he learned about the holdings. She had been given lessons on how to be a lady. As if she wanted them. She would rather do anything else than be a lady with no rights. One night, at a soiree, someone had approached her to spy for them. Not giving her a choice, really. So, with great reluctance, she’d accepted the invite to her cousin’s Christmas house party. Two weeks pretending to be happy about Christmas? Worse punishment ever for simply being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Then she met her prey—Kit Stuart the third. Her heart raced, and her body yearned for something she never wanted before. Kit Stuart searched for a rebel spy said to be coming to the Christmas party of his best friend. Not hard to accept as ordered, but then he found the rebel spy, and his heart denied it. His body craved hers. How could he arrest and maybe kill the first woman to make him believe that maybe there was such a thing as Christmas miracles? Then the real betrayal was revealed. Could they save their family and friends before it was too late?Link: https://books2read.com/u/bPRArA Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Spying-Christmas-Miracle-Express-Book-ebook/dp/B07XCYYLPP/ Christmas Eve, Captain Faraway and her crew are ordered to a desolate planet to rescue a crashed cruise ship. However, all is not as it seems. With the commander of the pleasure ship not being forthcoming, most of the surviving passengers didn't know they'd been shot down. Faraway is put in the position of revealing some unpleasant truths to attractive medical officer Ethan Roarke. Can Captain Faraway and the sexy doctor ferret out those whom don't belong before they've killed her crew and taken over her vessel, or will they pirate Christmas along with their ships? Melissa and Aaron, one time friends and lovers, meet up again after her disastrous date with a control freak and even more disastrous fall in the snow. To make matters worse, the date follows her, completing her embarrassment for Christmas Eve. Melissa picks up her parasol and lifts her chin, not to be undone, even as her heart aches. Could Christmas be saved for the Engineer who'd lost love once to pursue her engineering career? Or was she doomed to spend another Christmas alone? Link: https://www.amazon.com/Belles-Engineers-Leona-Bushman-ebook/dp/B07Y25HTX7/ It's super hot out in most places and it has me longing for the snow and snuggling by fireplaces. So I thought I'd share my Christmas stories with you this week, that's right Christmas reads in July. I'm crazy like that. Besides these are seriously some of my favorite stories that I have ever written! Not So Silent Night Anna is a lonely woman, running her dead grandmother's flower shop. She hates Christmas and could not feel more lost when a handsome and mysterious Russian, Alexander, walks into her shop and her life. Each has secrets that they are harboring. Just as their passion erupts, the good old boys in town threaten to ruin everything. Getting to know each other is tough for most couples, adding in magic does not make it any easier. Now with a pack of werewolves out to destroy them, things become intense. They find themselves in a fight for their lives. Can their newfound love give them the strength to win against this threat and trust in the future? mybook.to/NotSoSilentNight Very Friendly Beasts Mikhail is only in Paris to finding the missing heir to the German fox clan so that he can return to Russia and celebrate his last Christmas of freedom. Soon the Gathering would be called and he would be forced to find a mate. However, things become much more interesting than expected when he meet Ellie. Not only is his missing fox fierce and gorgeous, there is a connection between them that neither of them can explain. Before they can explore what is going on between them though, Mikhail must help Ellie as she faced some darkness from her past. Courage, magic, and maybe even love will help them both on a journey to find the future that they deserve. Can Mikhail and Ellie overcome their pasts and trepidation about the future in order to truly find the Christmas spirit and so much more? Sequel to Not So Silent Night, though both books can be read as a standalone. link: mybook.to/VeryFriendlyBeasts Not So Bleak Winter Some Christmas surprises change everything. Getting ready for a quiet Christmas as the vet on call, Rick got the surprise of a lifetime when a gorgeous woman appeared in his office with a bleeding deer in her arms. Not only is he able to learn about a world that he never knew existed, but maybe he is about to experience a Christmas miracle of his very own. Link: mybook.to/NotSoBleakWinter It's a long weekend for many of us here in the US and that means more time for reading! If you are at a loss as what to read, well fellow indie author Leona Bushman has some witchy fun books for you to keep you entertained all weekend long! A little about Book 1 in the series: After a lifetime of ignoring her magic, Melissa is now in danger from those who would like to steal it. Melissa discovers her magic is very real while hiking with her friend, Rachel. She sells everything and gives up her life as a stockbroker to live in solitude to practice and learn her magic. But real life keeps intruding. Then, one stormy night before Beltane, John arrives. Someone sends John to find her. He's a private investigator and very good at his job. But when he finds her, literal sparks fly. Next thing he knows, he's talking to cats and other animals, and they're talking back. If that isn't enough to believe in the magic, the spell she wove over him sure is. The heat between them is hotter than the Dismal Swamp in the Summer. They make plans for celebrating Beltane together, and he can't wait. However, as the time nears, he has to choose between his business and Melissa as the one who sent him to find her threatens him and the woman he's come to love. Whatever he does, he is afraid Melissa will die. How can he save her and their growing love? Now, she had to face them at the yearly pilgrimage to Avebury from Stonehenge. On her way, her mate found her. Now she had his life to worry about too. Treyan found his mate, but was confused that she had no idea about her pack... Then he discovered her real heritage. A witch. Of all the people to be mated to, he had to find a witch, the mortal enemies of the werewolves for half a millennia. And on a supermoon month. He vowed to help protect her, even from her own coven if necessary. But would it be enough against centuries of prejudice, or would they both die in a fiery maelstrom by the coven's hand?
