Today I wanted to write a little bit about why there is sometimes such a gap between my releases. Some of it is normal stuff, like life, inspiration, the normal time it takes to actually write and edit a book, the schedule of my editor, etc. But I also have some other difficulties that affect my writing. I suffer from some neurological health issues, including severe migraines and other headaches. I am sure you can imagine that makes staring at a computer screen, let alone writing something creatively really hard at times. That is something that I have been struggling with a lot over the past year and a half and my releases have gone down accordingly. I am trying to work with my doctors to find relief so I can have a better quality of life period, and of course a big part of my life will always be writing, no matter how slowly that happens at times.

If you have been a reader of this blog for awhile, then you know that I like to show love to other indie authors and creators. I also have come to "Share" my blog if you will with one of my fave indie author, friend, and editor, Leona Bushman. Now I have been slowly trying to get back into the swing of blogging and Leona has been facing some challenges herself, but I thought now would be a good time to reintroduce her to you all. She writes in many genres, maybe even more than I do, and is just an awesome author! Please go show her some love over on her social media links or check out her books on Amazon! And look for more from her soon on this blog!
Amazon Page Slowly but surely I am getting back into my writing groove. This week I plan to write one, if not two, new short stories for my upcoming dark/spooky short story collection Beyond the Veil. I am hoping to get the collection off to my editor by early April! So excited to be working on my first release of the year and that is should be out this Spring for you all to enjoy! And while you are waiting for some new releases from me, I thought I might get in a little shameless self promotion (an author has to eat after all) of one of my older works. Summer Interrupted has it all; a little romance, a little horror, a little mystery and all for .99 cents!
mybook.to/Summer_Interrupted Well 2020 was rough for many of us and 2021 started off a little rough as well, but things are starting to settle down a little and I am starting to get back into swing of the writing life. I am almost done compiling my collection of horror stories and only have a couple more to write before sending that off to my editor. I can't wait to have my first release of the year! I am also working on a longer piece for a publisher based on the Casket Girls of New Orleans and its so exciting to be working on a historical piece, something that I have not written much of in the past. I am also working a little on some rock star romances as well. So I am pretty busy and it feels good to be writing so much again!
And something that goes hand in hand with writing so much is reading and I have been reading more lately too. Reading just puts me in the mindset to write and also calms me down during these still stressful times, which then leaves me in a better mindset to write. So the sum of this post is I guess get ready for a lot of releases this year? Hopefully? lol How are you all coping with 2021 so far? I've been asked in the past where I get some of my awesome book covers from, well here is one of the very talented cover artists with whom I have worked with in the past and continue to work with now. I know it's been a bit but I'm back! And I have a cover reveal to share with you as well as an update on all things writing with me. First up, I want to present the lovely cover to my collection of horror short stories, Beyond the Veil! I am working on compiling the stories and writing a few more and will then be sending it off to my editor and am planning for a spring release for it! I will keep you posted when I have an actual release date set. On top of this collection of horror stories, I am also working on three rock star romance novellas and a gothic historical piece on the Casket Girls of New Orleans! The year may have started off slow for me writing wise, but I am planning on 2021 being a big year for me and my books! Stay tuned! |
