How is July already almost over? How? This year is just flying by! With the month just about to end, it's time to check back at the goals for the month. Now about midway through the month I had to recalculate some of my writing goals not only for this month, but for the rest of the year. For one thing I decided to write a Christmas novella again this year, which means I had to start writing as soon as possible so that I can get it to my editor in plenty of time. So I have reached about 30% of the goal word count on that piece. I hope to have it close to 70-75% complete by next week as then I have the oldest niece visiting and my writing time will be limited for a week or so. I want to have this novella finished and off to my editor before the end of August. Then I need to write the third and final book in the Port Stone series. Hoping to have that to my editor by the end of September. And I have a contemporary romance that I want to get to her by November for a January release. Those are my main plans for the rest of this year. I didn't quite hit my goals this month, but I did get a great start on a new project.
So my August goals are: - To finish and submit my Christmas novella. -Edits for Port Stone Book 2 -Get at least 40% of Port Stone Book 3 written. -Add some words to my contemporary romance based in Paris I have had to learn to simplify my goals and streamline my writing process, which is always a work in progress. I am always learning and growing as an author and trying to find what works best for me. This way I hope to produce more and better writing with each and every new release.

I am back with a couple more book reviews for the Fractured Fantasies series by the awesome indie author Torie James! The Nomad is the seventh book of the Fractured Fantasies series. The apocalypse had happened and people rely on nomads, runners who travel from settlement to settlement bringing news and seeking help. One such nomad learned that not everything is as it seems and that sometimes mixing work with pleasure is a dangerous game. 5/5 stars for some very interesting twists and turns. Link: https://www.amazon.com/Nomad-Fractured-Fantasies-Book-ebook/dp/B07QPSTSQ9/ The Offering is the eighth book in the Fractured Fantasies series. I love paranormal stories and this is one that comes off completely unexpected. A woman on the run, but from what? A man desperate for just a little of her time. What is the connection between them and why have they been playing a cat and mouse game for years? I don't want to ruin the surprise, but the truth is firey! 5/5 stars for a hot, hot story! Link: https://www.amazon.com/Offering-Fractured-Fantasies-Book-ebook/dp/B07QNPPCTY/ FRACTURED FANTASIES are cautionary, carnal tales..In the burning lands of rapturous fulfillment and unrequited desire, one false step can lead down the path towards delicious destruction. Impassioned appeals, sinful seductions and fevered longings can often hide degrees of twisted tenderness but don't be fooled. Not all prisons have bars, silence can be deadly and even the sweetest face conceals monstrous insanity. Tread lightly, choose well or find sexual satisfaction at the dead end of one-way street.
Do you ever feel like you are the maps app on your phone and the driver just went off the planned path and now you have to recalculate? That you are constantly recalculating your life? I know that I do, in all aspects of my life in fact. However this blog is about the recalculations I am making in my writing plans for the rest of 2019.
As life continues to pull me off path and my own writing brain creates new projects, adjustments need to be made. Now I do have a ton of projects in the works, but now I need to realistically think of what I can finish and get out in 2019. Part of this recalculation is coming from the fact that I just added a Christmas novella to be released during the holidays this year. I already have the basic plot in mind and just got myself a cover over the weekend and I am so excited to put out another shifter Christmas novella this year, though I am moving on from werebears to something new. So adding a new novella means I have to think about what else will be written this year. I am working on a contemporary romance set in Paris right now and I hope to have it out hopefully this year. I also need to write the third and final book in the Port Stone fantasy series, which I hope to get out in December as well. These are the three projects (plus edits for Book 2 of Port Stone) seem doable if I keep up a good writing schedule. This means I will be writing a few less short stories for anthologies, though I may still attempt one or two. I am trying to balance life and writing the best I can and am learning not to take on too much so that I feel overwhelmed. I am just recalculating. It's super hot outside and it has me dreaming of winter and the cold, so why not share a couple of my holiday stories so others can read of snow and sexiness while the temps of summer keep rising! Both of these stories are only .99 cents and are available on Kindle Unlimited. Why not celebrate a little Christmas in July! Anna is a lonely woman, running her dead grandmother's flower shop. She hates Christmas and could not feel more lost when a handsome and mysterious Russian, Alexander, walks into her shop and her life. Each has secrets that they are harboring. Just as their passion erupts, the good old boys in town threaten to ruin everything. Getting to know each other is tough for most couples, adding in magic does not make it any easier. Now with a pack of werewolves out to destroy them, things become intense. They find themselves in a fight for their lives. Can their newfound love give them the strength to win against this threat and trust in the future? Link: mybook.to/NotSoSilentNight Mikhail is only in Paris to finding the missing heir to the German fox clan so that he can return to Russia and celebrate his last Christmas of freedom. Soon the Gathering would be called and he would be forced to find a mate. However, things become much more interesting than expected when he meet Ellie. Not only is his missing fox fierce and gorgeous, there is a connection between them that neither of them can explain. Before they can explore what is going on between them though, Mikhail must help Ellie as she faced some darkness from her past. Courage, magic, and maybe even love will help them both on a journey to find the future that they deserve. Can Mikhail and Ellie overcome their pasts and trepidation about the future in order to truly find the Christmas spirit and so much more? In No Change Policy in Room 8 we learn that looks can be deceiving, even for one who thinks that they are doing the deceiving. Just because someone seems unimposing on the outside doesn't meant that they may not be higher up on the food chain than you. This is a fun and very sexy paranormal romance that has a vampires, shifters and... a sex club! 5/5 stars for sheer fun! Link: https://www.amazon.com/Change-Policy-Room-Fractured-Fantasies-ebook/dp/B00YNT5NXI/ In Book 6 of Fractured Fantasies, The Factory, things are not always as they seem. A young girl thinks that she has it all when an older man wants to marry her and give her all her heart desires... but strings are always attached. When she decides freedom is more important than money, well she truly learns so much about her husband and herself, in a completely unexpected way. 5/5 stars for twists and turns that leave you shocked. Link: https://www.amazon.com/Factory-Fractured-Fantasies-Book-ebook/dp/B07QS23228/ I am back today with some more reviews for the Fractured Fantasies series by the awesome indie author Torie James. I already posted reviews for the first two books in the series a couple weeks ago and you can find those here! Today I will be reviewing the next two books in the series!
First here is a little bit about Fractured Fantasies: Fractured Fantasies are cautionary, carnal tales. In the vast playground of sensual delight, forbidden pleasures are found in the waiting shadows...approach with caution. When the lights are low and the senses provoked, a smoky realm of rapturous wonder becomes the doorway to all dark desires and penultimate passion. Beware the beauty of luscious lies, the fantasy of furious foreplay and the wanton promises of the salacious soul. Now onto the reviews. Selfie is Book 3 of the series and for sure one of my favorites so far! This takes the idea from The Picture of Dorian Gray and updates it to our own time of selfies. Now this is a short read, but one packed with intensity and intrigue. Get a look at promises and promises broken, all through the lens of a girl from the wrong side of the tracks that becomes a woman at the pinnacle of fashion, and the deals she had to make to get there. 5/5 stars for the sheer fun I had reading this one! NeverMore is Book 4 of Fractured Fantasies. Newlyweds, a husband with alternative motives, a wife with even bigger secrets. This is a quick and fun read that has a lot of twists and turns that lead to a shocking end that I loved! Another 5 stars from me! As I am planning out my second half of 2019 and working towards those goals, I thought that I would talk a little bit about the big plans I have for my YouTube channels this year and beyond. Yes YouTube channels, I plan on having four eventually. Well technically I already have four since I went ahead and registered their names so I can start them as I am ready.
First I already have an active ASMR channel named Nerdy Author ASMR! I try to post an ASMR video at least once a week, though life sometimes gets in the way. I paint on here, miniature paint, talk about books and do all kinds of fun stuff, but usually whispered and in a relaxing manner. The next channel that I will probably get going is Chatting About Classic Literature! I am working on getting this one ready. I will probably only post once a month, ,maybe twice a month here. It will be exactly like it is sounds, it will all be about talking about classical literature. I will talk about Shakespeare and Tolkien and all kinds of other works and authors, many which inspired me to be an author. I just want to share my love for literature with people! Another channel that I hope to have up and running maybe next month is Two Authors Drinking! It will be a monthly chat/interview with another author, be it in person or via Skype. I want to talk and learn from other authors, help them promote their work, and create a great community! I am super excited to get this channel going! And last but certainly not least, I will be starting a workout channel for people of all fitness levels, but really catering to beginners and those working back from illness and injury entitled Sweating with Sheri. This channel won't be up and going until I get my personal trainer certification, but I will hopefully start studying for that by the end of the month! I am super excited about this as I want this to be my career, my day job if you will to my writing career. After I get my certification of course, but I am already working on ideas for free videos on YouTube as well as working on what will become my website as well, offering more specific plans and personalized plans and one on one sessions even. I can't wait to get started and start building a business! Wow, that is a lot to do, but I am passionate and excited about all of these channels and challenges to come! I hope you all are too and will come on this journey with me! This year I have been working a lot on myself, part of that means learning more about myself and learning to be true to myself. I am sure that this is something that a lot of people can relate to.
So what does being true to oneself mean for me personally? It means learning to put myself and my health first sometimes. A healthy diet and exercise are important to me and I make sure to make time for that. I am making more time for art, which along with exercise is a major stress reliever. I am making sure to leave time for reading. I am also embracing my old love of fashion, no matter what others say. I live in a place where people make fun of me for liking fashion, for buying slightly more expensive than Walmart fashion, for wanting to keep up to date on fashion. Well too bad, that is part of who I am. And of course I am an author, which means I have to have time to write on top of everything else. Plus the day job, which is really just about the money to pay my bills. And coming soon I will be training for my personal trainer certification. So one thing that I have learned while trying to be true to myself, is the the need to be more organized. I have to really pay attention to how I spend my time if I am to feed all aspects of myself. I also have to learn to say no to others, something that is often hard for me, but hey I'm learning. I, just like everyone else on the planet, am a work in progress. Do you feel that you are true to yourself? What are your tips for living your most authentic life? How is it already July 1st? I mean really this month is flying by! As a way of accountability, I am going to try to post monthly goals on my first blog post of the month from here on out, which means it's time for some July goals right now.
Of course my main goals that I will talk about on this blog as writing goals, I am an author after all. So this month I hope to write a 5500 word short story and get is submitted. I also want to add 15000 words in the current contemporary romance novel that I am working on, It All Comes Back to Paris. That's a lot of writing for me, so fingers crossed that I have some decent days of writing ahead. I also suspect that I will have at least the first round of edit for Port Stone Book Two before the month is out. So a lot of writing work coming, but I am excited. I also want to read 8 books this month and post some reviews for them here on this blog. I want to work more on my art, that means some watercolor paintings, one oil painting, and lots and lots of miniature painting. I am also working on my healthy lifestyle, despite summer heat hitting me hard. So I want to run/walk at least 50 miles this month, as well as incorporate some yoga and strength. I am also working on getting ready to start my personal trainer certification training. By the end of summer I will be studying! I am also working on some exciting things for YouTube, things that I will be sharing shortly! So July is going to be a busy month! What are your plans this month? Let's support each other and try to accomplish all of our goals! |
