It may only be August, but NaNoWriMo is just around the corner and I have an awesome idea for my novel this year! I am going to be writing a time travel/steampunk hybrid and that means that I have a lot of research to do before the actual writing begins. I really want to make the science behind the time travel as real as I can, same goes for the steampunk technology. I do have one advantage as I happen to be married to someone who minored in math, so I have some help with equations that I might need to make time travel "possible". I am pretty excited about this upcoming novel. If all goes well I will write more than 50K words in it in November and it will be released early 2019. I have been planning this novel for a long time and even have a cover already to go for it! Stay tuned for updates on this very special project! Here is a sneak peak of the cover because I just have to share it! Cover artist is Lillian Asterios.

How is it already August? That means I have less than 5 months of writing left in 2018! This has been a rather slow year for me on the writing front, too much of outside life getting in the way, but I am hoping to make the most of what is left of the year and have big plans for 2019!
First off my Atlantis story, The Discovery of a Lifetime is off to my editor and I should be working on edits for it soon. I am hoping for a late September release, but we are working on the details. I am also happy to say that this month I am writing a Christmas novella as a sequel to my steamy Not So Silent Night novella. I already have a cover for it and will be getting this to my editor by September 1! It will be released in early December. In between edits and my holiday novella, I am still researching and world building for my dragon borne series. I am also plotting for my nanowrimo novel this year, which is a time travel/steampunk hybrid! When I have time I am also working on the long awaited sequel to Quest for Redemption. So lots in the works this month and beyond! So I have been piling up some new (to me at least) games lately and am finally getting a chance to play them, that means its time for some game reviews. Today I am reviewing Santorini which came highly recommended to me from someone at my local game store (Ettin Games and Hobbies for those of you in the Albuquerque area).
Santorini is a very quick and easy game. It didn't take long to learn the rules at all and we managed to fit 3 games in a short of amount of time. The game is very visually stunning (see the picture below) as you actually build the game in 3D. The artwork is super cute (which was one of the reasons I was drawn to it) and with changing strategy based on what cards you draw and how you and your fellow player(s) choose to play, there is a lot of replay-ability. This is a fun two to three player game where you try to be the first player to build a three story building for your god. There are different Greek gods in the deck and each offer you different abilities. It's as simple as that really. This is a great game to play when you need something light and not too time consuming, but that still requires strategy. As my husband and I play a lot of games at night after he gets off work late, I have a feeling this will be getting a lot of play. For the ease to learn, prettiness, fun had while playing, short amount of time needed to get a game in, and the chance to replay multiple times with different strategies 4/5. I highly recommend this game if you are interested! Today I am happy to share the cover reveal for my upcoming Atlantis story, The Discovery of a Lifetime! It is a mix of romance, sci-fi, and a touch of steampunk. I made the cover myself and must say that I am pretty darn happy with it! Atlantis is a myth that will not die, it has been told in several forms with each different and interesting in its own right. Why not take romance below the sea into a fantasy world full of wonder and maybe even love? Karina is the laughing stock of the archaeology world. Despite the naysayers she knows in her heart that she’s right, Atlantis is real and she will find it. With a mysterious backer and state of the art technology, she finds her heart’s desire and then some. Atlantis is not so lost after all, and their prince seems to only have eyes for her. |
