Sorry that I have been rather silent of late. Sometimes life just gets me down. There are a lot of things happening in my life right now. I have been having some self doubts about writing. I must say that this month is has been a bad month for my writing totals. I have had to bow out of a couple projects on my list. I am trying to forge ahead with projects for next month, but right now I am doubting myself. Maybe I should take a break for a little bit. Maybe I shouldn't pack my writing schedule so tightly. I don't know. A slow year in writing just seems to be getting slower for me. But even when I am down, writing is still in my blood and I keep plugging away. Sometimes I really wish I could walk away, just enjoy being a reader again and not have this compulsion to write. Writing is hard and not necessarily something that I chose, it chose me and doesn't seem to want to let me go.

Another week, another Bob's Burger's Cookbook burger review! This week the hubby and I had the Jack O' Lentil burger. It consisted of chevre cheese (my husband's new favorite cheese on burgers), spinach, and a lentil mixture with onions, garlic, assorted peppers, honey, and spices that I also used as a healthy side dish. Pretty yummy burger, though the lentil mixture is a little messy as it falls out of the burger when eating. All in all, a good burger though. It earned two thumbs up from my husband and myself.
I have finally taken the step and am going to be starting up an author newsletter. I will be releasing my first one next month. It's all new to me and I am learning as I go along, but I am hoping to have all my writing updates, new releases, sales, and more for you each month. You can sign up here: http://eepurl.com/cS7fM1
I look forward to sharing so much with you! Earlier this week my poor boy had to go in for surgery. He had a molar removed and some growths remove from his stomach. Poor thing had a pretty tough day and is still recovering. His vet bill was pretty high, so if anyone would like to buy some books, art, or jewelry now if a good time to get them! Message me if you are interested in anything! Charlie and I thank you!
So I started out this month wanting to focus more on art. I have not been able to keep up with my sketch schedule, but I am making more time to paint! I may not be painting every day, but I am getting some stuff done and it feels good! I will be getting a table at Fan Fest here in Albuquerque in August, so I am working on some fun paintings to sell there along with my books. Here are just a couple of things that I did for fun! Mega Man and Wonder Woman aren't quite finished, but they look cute to me!
This week's burger from the Bob's Burgers Cookbook was the I've Created a Muenster Burger. It is made with mushrooms sauteed in butter, two slices of muenster cheese, and served with lettuce (I substituted spinach because, yum spinach) and a touch of ketchup. While the taste was pretty good, the mushrooms did not want to stay in the burger and that made it a bit messy. I could also do without the ketchup as well. That said, the husband and I rate this as two 3/4 thumbs up, it's still a pretty good burger.
Finally made it to see Alien Covenant. My husband had to watch Prometheus first, so we are a bit behind I know. However, as a huge Alien franchise fan I was not disappointed in this film. A little more action that Prometheus, the aliens were fun. Great overall look and feel to the film. A fun twist towards the end. I just liked the film and found it to be a perfect entertaining summer film. Go see it and just enjoy. I could say so much more, but I don't want to spoil anything. I am eagerly awaiting the next installment. Since a large part of this blog is dedicated to my being an author, I thought that I would give a little writing update. As many of you probably know I am very excited to be part of a horror anthology, Electromagnetism, just released! (Links will be at the end of this post). I am also excited to say that edits are done for a super sexy short for a summer erotica anthology out July 18! I am also thrilled to announce that a sweet romantic novella has been accepted by Hot Tree Publishing and will be out next February! Excited to join the Hot Tree family!
As to what is down the road, I have several horror shorts out on submission and hope to have some acceptances to share soon. This month I am working on another horror short and a sweet winter romance. I am also brainstorming the next two Gods Behaving Badly books and the long awaited sequel to Quest for Redemption. Lots of writing still coming from me this year! So please keep checking back for more updates! As I talked about at the beginning of the month, I am really working on taking better care of myself and getting back in shape. I have been drinking more water, trying to get more steps in each day, exercising at least three times per month, and slowly trying to add in some strength training. Now thanks to Kris Carr, a kick ass cancer survivor whose books I have read, I am taking a four part free webinar that is helping me to focus on myself even more. I am trying to meditate more and treat my body even better. Now I don't know if I can ever go vegan like Kris is, but I can eat better and feel better. I am even considering signing up for her 21 program to get a jump start on a healthier life. I have had some health setbacks and I sure could use some more energy and less stress in my life. At least I am on the right track and making small changes each and every day.
If you are interested in checking out more about Kris Carr and her free wellness series or anything else, you can find her at http://kriscarr.com/! I highly recommend her books and website not only for cancer patients and survivors, but for anyone who needs a kick in the pants to get healthier for all kinds of health conditions. It's time for another burger review from the Bob's Burgers Cookbook! This past week the hubby and I cooked the Hit Me with Your Best Shallot burger! Yum! That is all that I can say. This burger called for shallots, chevre cheese, thyme, and arugula. Great combination all around. Chevre cheese is one of my faves, and it pairs so well with the shallots and burger. This is definitely one of my favorite burgers so far. It got two thumbs up from both my husband and myself.
