I am just honored that someone nominated me! I believe voting is open until the 13th! This year I am learning to find more balance in my life. I am back to working a day job, so I now have to balance that with my writing career. I am actually finding this rather easy as I work part time and still have plenty of time to right. In fact I find that I am managing my writing time better and that I seem to be getting more words out. Maybe I just needed to get out more and be less isolated to get my writing mojo back. I think that this is going to be a good year for my career all the way around.
The other thing I am trying to learn to balance is my work/life balance. I tend to work more than I tend to take care of myself. But this year I am making me and my husband priorities as well. I have a fitbit now thanks to my brother, so I am trying to use that to help with getting my health back on track. I am going to make it a point to have date nights with my husband more often. I am going to make time to read each and every day. I am going to meditate every day. I am going to take care of myself better so that I can still work and write, just from a happier and healthier place. What are your tips to having a more balanced life? Leave them in the comments. Book Five of My Gods Behaving Badly series, Love and Wisdom, will be out in February so I thought that I might help you get caught up with the series so far. Looted is the story that start it all and is only .99 cents on Amazon or free on Kindle Unlimited!
Link: http://a.co/9TyhDHN The end of 2016 was not kind to me when it came to writing. Too much stress, too much ill health, too much of everything made it hard for me to write. Not being able to write as I wished only worsed my moods and my depression. Thankfully 2016 is behind us and it is the start of a new year, a new beginning, a new chance to get back into the writing groove.
Right now I am finishing up edits on the fifth book in the Gods Behaving Badly series. Love and Wisdom willhopefully be out in February. I am about to start edits on book six as well. I am also finally back to working on the sequel of Quest for Redemption, it is tenatively titled Quest for Self. I am over 11K in and I have the next couple days off and hope to reach 20K by the weekend! My goal is to have the rough draft finished by the end of January, revise and edit in February and get it to the editor by March. I am thinking an early summer release! Fingers crossed I can get that done! I am also about to start a novella for part of a summer sizzle box set, so I really do need to get back into the writing groove. This year there will be no excuses, no matter what life throws at me I will keep writing. Even if I only manage a couple hundred words a night after work, I will keep moving forward and reach my writing goals! Dawn Brower is one of my favorite historical romance novels and she does not disappoint in A Treasured Lily, which is Book 2 of her Marsden series. The Lily in the title, is a rather spoiled and stubborn young woman who will do anything to live the life she wants. She schemes to get her way, and thinks everything is falling into place until a handsome American captain puts all her plans into a tailspin. This is a fast paced romp with strong characters who have you rooting for them. This is a story of becoming a true adult and finding true love all wrapped into one. I give it 5/5 stars. You can grab a copy on Amazon. I for one am extremely thankful that 2017 is here at last! I have lots of big plans for this year and I am ready to get started on new and exciting adventures. I am starting the new year with my new day job still brand new to me and taking some time to get the day job/writing/life balance in place. So far so good on that. I am also starting the new year working on the long awaited sequel to my romantic fantasy Quest for Redemption, tenatively titled Quest for Self. I am also working on getting Gods Behaving Badly Book Five, Love and Wisdom, out in early February. I am also just starting edits for book 6. My day job may be slowing me down, but not by much.
Last year was a tough year, so I am really hoping that this year is much better. Last week I shared a lot of my goals for this year. Let's hear some of yours. Let's make this year great together! |
